2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800

A new segment. A new reference. A new MV Agusta.

The Rivale 800. Absolute enjoyment.

MV Agusta Rivale 800. Unique both in design, performance, and absolute riding satisfaction. Unquestionably MV Agusta, Rivale 800 enters a new market segment to go where only emotions dominate. This extraordinary motorcycle boasts performance figures that leave little to the imagination: 170 kg, 125 hp.

The unrivalled visual identity has been extended to every component and every surface of this machine. The MV Agusta Rivale 800 is a result of passion, experience, and inspiration to capture the essence of what is truly representative of our historic brand. It further expands upon our range with a new, eclectic interpretation of our modern three-cylinder engine that debuted on the F3 675 and also equips the Brutale 675 and 800 alongside the renewed four-cylinder family F4 and Brutale.

The Rivale 800 exudes an emotive design from every angle.

Brand new model from MV Agusta! Sorry about the lack of specifications, I even checked today and there isn't any further ones up yet. And as far as I know, the Rivale 800 isn't available in Canada either. But it's new. :D

I understand that this bike was voted the best looking bike at some big event in Europe not that long ago, but it is just ugly. Most likely the performance is fantastic, with cutting edge technology, but this bike is chew my arm off coyote ugly. An overabundance of useless angular forms. Perhaps if the Rivale was going past on some track at maximum throttle all of the plastic would smear together and a momentary glance would not then bring on an instant tension headache. I would much rather the Brutale 800 and the F4 is gorgeous.

Uncool - the only MV Agusta that I would give an uncool.

I will go exactly the opposite direction and say that it is awesome. Friggin awesome. Actually makes the Brutale look dated and the Brutale is one of my favorite motorcycles. Apparently the 800 is sorted too, in a way that the 675 was not. I'd love to give one a go.

Had to think about this one....do I like its looks or do I find it repellent? I am not over fond of the Transformereque type of styling for the most part, but in the end, I have to say this is one sexy looking bit of kit, I especially like the exhaust set. Plus its a triple, and in a world dominated by IL4's and V-twins, a triple is a good thing. So, I will give it awesome for its sexy fairly naked looks, and three cylinder engine. I wouldn't mind taking one out for a spin, but I doubt I would own one.
Always ask why.

I prefer the Brutale, but this thing is sex on wheels nonetheless. Still makes me feel some awe, so it must be awesome.
