Maintenance free powertrain sounds good. Just plug it in, no oil changes, valve checks.

IDK I usually love electrics but there is some stuff that isn't answered here. Is the regen decel a load free design or does it act like heavy engine braking or is it adjustable. 7.5 hrs of charge time for a 50 mile radius give or take they could and should do better. Also a belt in the dirt is not to great 1 rock and your walking I have seen it several times already with Buell's.
I guess you gotta start somewhere but price and what I am seeing here could be better.

Awesome. Zero has come a long way in a short time. Battery technology is the only thing holding them back now, but I expect that to improve within a few years. In the meantime, the limited range still allows it to be used as a short distance commuter, but seeing as how it is a dirt bike I wonder what the actual riding time will be when you're out in the woods chasing squirrels.

An electric dirt bike should be a great use of the technology; it's a relatively controlled environment (in terms of the length of the ride) and suits the limited range of most electric bikes. A quiet bike is pretty considerate in a nature trail. But unfortunately, belt drive makes this bike so much of a risk to ride anywhere there's rocks or gravel, I have to give it a fail.

A dirt bike with an electric power train conjures three letters in my mind -- BLM.

Other than hydraulic fluids, this carries no harmful chemicals (oil, gasoline, coolant, etc) into the environments you ride through. Without a tailpipe, you leave behind no emissions and pose no threat of starting a fire in the brush. And it's significantly quieter than a gasoline powertrain. So this bike can essentially pass through an environment without doing any more damage than someone on a pedal bike, and that fact is going to make it difficult for the prudes at the BLM to deny you trail access. No doubt they'll still do it, but the discussion will be started.

That said, as has been mentioned above a belt drive just isn't practical for the thick. With a chain this would be Awesome, with the belt it's merely Cool.

I know people use dual sports for a lot of things besides off-pavement riding. But the thought of taking an electric bike with potential range limitations out into the wilds (e.g. the New Jersey pine barrens) leaves me cold. I've read too many reports about the difference between real-world range on electrics and the manufacturers' putative claims about range. Not cool.
