Yeah, that's a lotta coin just to tear the @$$ outta a canyon or two on the weekends. I think the price is pretty much in the zone for this kind of bike. To compare, a regular Triumph Speed Triple is $700 less, and a Triumph Speed Triple R with the fancy suspension is $1200 more. A Street Triple R is $3500 less, but it's also down about 25 hp while weighing about the same.

I give it a cool. Somehow the Street Triple R still appeals more, if I was in the market for a standard/naked.
Just wondering though, standards are supposed to be more versatile and practical. Does this even have an option for a small luggage rack? A centerstand? A helmet lock? It can be rightly argued that that's not what Ducatis are about, but it's getting rarer and rarer to see any standard in this size class with some of these practical touches.

Definitely cool, maybe I am too old but I also would like some kind of was to carry something (lunch, work clothes) and yes a centerstand would be good but not a must.

I have a newb question about the exhaust which is a 2 into 1 into 2: once you combined the exhaust for the catalytic converter, is there any power advantage in splitting the exhaust so that you have 2 silencers or is this primarily just for aesthetics?

I haven't ridden it, but rode 1098 version when it first came out. Very capable, very fast, but somehow without soul. The Superduke that I rode to and from the test ride was, and still is the polar opposite.
As for the ergos, the pegs are surprisingly high, and the handlebars surprisingly low for a modern super-naked bike.
Last Saturday I rode the new Monster 1200 Testretta and THAT bike has all that the Streetfighter was missing. I don't know why - it just does.
