EBR introduces new 1190SX “Superfighter” sport bike...

Featuring the power and technology of a superbike, the EBR 1190SX is a true high-performance motorcycle with a racing heritage. Designed to be a dominating street machine, the 1190SX is equally at home carving canyons on the open road or taking on the concrete canyons of the city.

2015 EBR 1190SX http://www.Totalmotorcycle.com Key Features

Following the successful introduction of their 1190RX superbike, Erik Buell Racing has introduced the EBR 1190SX, a true naked streetfighter-style sport bike with uncompromised Superbike race-bred performance and handling.

Sharing the 1190RX’s V-Twin engine rated at 185 crankshaft horsepower and more than 100 lb.-ft. of torque, the new EBR 1190SX delivers the highest performance available in the streetfighter category. EBR founder and Chief Technical Officer Erik Buell is no stranger to streetfighter-style sport bikes, having defined the category with the introduction of the S1 Lightning in 1995. “The streetfighter classification, which was so revolutionary when we first came to market, is now being used by marketing people for all sorts of motorcycles, including some thinly-disguised standard bikes that have de-tuned or obsolete powertrains,” said Buell. “So, perhaps the appropriate new name for a bike like the 1190SX is, ‘Superfighter.’“

Nice bike, but not a street fighter, far too much plastic to be a street fighter.....so....fail due to poor marketing.....otherwise, it would be a strong cool.
Always ask why.

I love this bike plain and simple, you know everybody killed Buell for the PODS see pic below so they changed it up and now, they seem to be killen em for the fans and rads and I get it but a street fighter is also about performance as well as looks and cooling works better when air is gettin through. This motor isn't a buzzy 4 or 6 cyl like the MV or Benelli it's a twin and it's a 185 BHP twin so it's gonna heat up and I don't want to sit on a heater I want it cooling well. The EBR has chain which I like over the belt especially with all that HP but the twin delivers a very user friendly power infusion ya gotta ride one to see how much fun they are!!!!
The brakes are very very good and the sound OH THAT BUELL sound UMMMMMM. And ifin ya get one ya get to do THIS!!!!!!!!

AWESOME.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

I hate to sound so 80's, but this is totally awesome!

It's a Buell (well, an EBR, but you know what I mean), based on the 1190RX, with an engine that isn't "detuned for more midrange" or "loosely based on (our more hardcore sportbike engine)", or any of that. Seems to be pretty much the 1190RX with handlebars and less plastic. Of course, even less plastic would be preferable, but it's a Buell (well, an EBR . . .). They're not about being pretty.

I agree it has too much plastic, and I am not sure about the seat, but I have to say Awesome. I would love to own one of these and would love to see how it compares to the new BMW, KTM, Aprilia and others.

I REALLY want to love this bike and I am sure that in execution it works very well - BUT - when you shell out this kind of money for an exclusive bike you expect a body that looks somewhat more advanced than we would find on a Hyosung. Sorry - had to say it - its not a looker. It looks cheap even..........

I'll give it cool, but if it was my money it would be a new Superduke....

Awesome.

Wow, Erik really hit a home run with the new 1190SX. Incredible power right out of the gate and a price that isn't over $17k for an exclusive model. I can't wait to see what his "entry level" model is later this year (hopefully). I am still hoping for something another $5k less, even if it offers less power.

If you take a look at the number, the 1190SX for the price, puts it near/at the top of the V-Twin line, nothing else offers more power in current V-Twin production than this 1190SX.

For the design, I really like it, although, I'd like to see more snazzy paint work from EBR than "gloss red/white", I'm sure they could go the route of Victory or even some fancy helmet designs (ICON comes to mind). I'd say this design is on par with the new 1200 monster, except this has more interesting technology. There is no question I'd go for this over the new Ducati... As High_Side has suggested this bike would compete well vs the new Superduke 1290, but I'd have to ride both back-to-back to pick a winner. Offer the mark, for me, it's the EBR 1190SX though, it's the same weight, much less money and more power... :revv:
