I gave it a Cool vote, but to me, it sure doesn't have the appeal of earlier Z models.
Too angular, too much plastic, too much transformer, heck it even hurts to even think about riding it. I've owned a ZR7F (2001) and it was an awesome bike, then my wife Andrea owned the next gen (2006) Z750S which got more angled, and now this gen is even more extreme. I'm sure the engine is beautiful, I really enjoyed my in-line 4 Kawasaki with it's "begging to be taken to redline sound" and the bike really handed too on the curves. Wow.
Come on Kawasaki and put the beautiful engine into a real naked bike!
I'd buy another 2001 Z, before I get one of these new ones though...

Everything I've read about the engineering and the riding experience is positive, and I like naked standards. But, my gosh, I can't get past the looks. I know it isn't all about looks, but I seriously wouldn't buy this bike simply because I can't get past the looks. So it gets a Cool, but misses an Awesome.

Looks like a transformer bug and would be a lot of fun to ride. I voted awesome.

This bike is just very ugly. I think we are witness to the design impact of the MV Agusta Rivale which won the "Most Beautiful Bike" award at EICMA in 2012. Lots of purposeless angular forms.

NOTES: Back in the day, the Kawasaki Z series of motorcycles were the cream of the crop in terms of speed, technology and handling. Think of the "Z" as the GSXR for Kawasaki. With the Z series Kawasaki held speed records over Suzuki for decades. Today, the Z series, while still good, needs a little re-working to bring up it's status to what it truly deserves.

Too much of a Roboccop-meets-Transformers-meets-bad-biker-movie vibe.
And could the mirrors get any more worthless?!
