Big boss
From zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.2 seconds – with low fuel consumption and a 15,000 km service interval
What happens when KTM packs the attributes of the proven 75-degree V-twin into 1.3 litres of displacement? The result is an extremely lightweight, elemental engine filled with state-of-the-art racing technology, yet still even more sophisticated, durable and cultivated than ever. 132 kW (180 hp) peak power, 144 Nm maximum torque with 100 Nm as early as 2500 rpm – could there be better guarantees for explosive propulsion whatever the revs?

Re: This Week: 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R ABS - Vote Now
Thanks to ZRex for suggesting the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R ABS for the Cool Wall this week! I'm surprised I haven't put this one up as it was new last year from KTM, but more than likely some other bike was announced just after the 1290 and I forgot...lol.
Suggest a Cool Wall bike today: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=40774&p=340151#p340151
But here you go, the 1290 Superduke!

Re: This Week: 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R ABS - Vote Now
Thank you for putting the Super Duke R on the cool wall, that was a nice birthday present. I thought surely I hadn't missed it but made sure to look before I recommended it.
I am voting Awesome and if there were something above Awesome I would have picked that. Kawasaki is my favorite brand and I hope to never get rid of my ZRX, but if I were to buy a new bike and could afford it I would buy The KTM. I actually went to my local KTM shop today but they did not have any in. I am getting a little nervous because KTM might be getting way too much of my money next year.

I went with a solid COOL on this one. I do like the unique and modern styling a lot but I do think that making this bike the 1290 probably just makes it even more like death on wheels... To anyone who buys one... please be careful!!!

Re: This Week: 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R ABS - Vote Now
Hmmmm, I'll go with Cool.
I would have gone awesome (and it is for the looks) but the price, wowzers?! $20000 ($17000 USD) ouch! Is KTM planning to sell many of these at all?
Pretty amazing looking at the specs a 1300cc V-Twin with 180hp in a bike that weights in at just 189 kg (420lbs), and a short wheelbase wow. Talk about a wheelie machine + + . But I doubt it would be very good for touring use... but the 1290 would rock urban use!
The only complaints I have about the KTM 1290 Super Duke R are:
1. The rear of the bike looks like someone rear ended you and you left it in the "accident position"
2. Lack of cool gauges/clocks.
3. A little too angular
But that isn't that bad.
