hit a deer today
Well it was dead but still. Idiot who hit the deer had one of those light bars (the ones with 6 lights look like 1 million candle watt ones) so I couldnt see. I assumed it was a deer got hit but I couldnt see cause of that ahole. Either way I did start slowing down not know what was ahead of me till I saw it. Good thing I took the MSF course cause I floored the bike and jumped up at the same time. I think I got prob 2 feet of air cause I bottomed out (felt like it anyways) when I came back down. So I have blood and hair AAALLL over the bottom of the bike and over the brake drum assembly. It doesnt look like I have any damage but I would rather be safe than sorry so I am making a claim asap and will at least have it looked at to make sure everything is ok. not sure who I will have look at it though if I should just have mmcycle look at it (mmcycle.com) or not.
BTW they guy hit the deer before I got there. I shouldnt need a police report cause I have hair and blood EVERYWHERE on this bike. I mean its impossible to miss.

well its $150 for them to look at the bike (mmcycle). So since I have a 0 deductable Ill just have the insurance pay for it. I am just worried I cracked/bent something that I cant see. You know like maybe bent the forks and/or the rims. It also started sounding weird after I hit. Something just doesnt sound like its running right.

2 feet of air on a Shadow... Yeah definitely get it looked at!
Off the top of my head I'd have them definitely check the wheel bearings, forks, suspension bushings, motor mounts, and final drive alignment.
And Geoff, when you get here, try not to have flashbacks!

I "procreating" hate deer. I now know why people go hunting. I would be laughing about me hitting the deer if it hadn't meant the death of my car.ofblong wrote:well it was prob closer to a foot than 2 feet but the deer did make a sort of "ramp" for meWrider wrote:2 feet of air on a Shadow...
