2012 KTM 450 SMR

RACING THOROUGHBRED

Following the “Ready to Race” slogan, the long – awaited “new generation“ of the legendary 450 SMR is finally available – a brand new development equipped only with the finest technology. The barking DOHC 1-cylinder engine has been taken fairly straight from the powerful 450 SX-F Motocross. The compact single’s core is a high tech, DOHC cylinder head with titanium valves and DLC coated followers.

That means an ultra-wide power band, a high redline and plenty of power from low engine speeds all the way to the maximum. Also derived from the 450 SXF, the new chrome-molybdenum frame with bolt-on aluminium subframe ensures maximum stability and
the agility of a house fly. Improved once again, the 48mm WP USD front forks and the new linkage rear suspension with separately adjustable high speed compression damping guarantee full control in every track section. Sticky Dunlop slicks make for maximum
traction, even when the radial, four-pot Magura front calliper chomps down mercilessly on the 310mm wave disc. In a word – out of the box and onto the grid.
