THE 2001 SUZUKI STREET LINE: VALUE & VERSATILITY

Suzuki's street bike line has a solid reputation as having some of the best values in the industry. Versatile machines that have broad appeal, they offer the right combination of price, performance and style. For 2001, all three models have received significant updates using input from Suzuki owners and dealers. You'll still find the performance these models are known for, but with refined styling and new features.

UPDATED MODEL: GS500

Entry-level riders are faced with a lot of decisions when choosing a new motorcycle. The GS500 has just the right features to get new riders started and keep them having fun as their riding skills increase. A four-stroke, twin-cylinder, 487cc air-cooled engine with a broad powerband keeps the GS500 slim, light and easy to handle. Wide, upright handlebars, a wide seat and lots of legroom make it comfortable. More experienced riders will appreciate the engine's six-speed gearbox and high-rpm redline - not to mention the rigid box-section frame, single-shock rear suspension and large front disc brake.

And for 2001, the GS500 gets updated styling with a new fuel tank, seat and tail-section, plus new instruments. All of which makes this Suzuki an attractive package to both entry-level riders and veterans - at a competitive price of just over $4,000.
