Daytona 955i

The Daytona 955i remains one of the few true superbikes to offer a rare combination of astonishing performance and maximum usability. Delivering 147bhp from its fuel-injected 955cc engine, the sheer drive from the second generation three-cylinder power unit remains one of its most alluring characteristics.

It's no surprise that other manufacturers are now following suit and taking advantage of the three-cylinder layout's ability to produce a high peak power output and still provide a good spread of power through the rev range.

Triumph has long regarded the triple as the best means of providing the sort of useable power that makes the Daytona so rewarding to ride. The highly developed engine is now more refined than ever and matched to a hugely capable chassis, praised for its first-rate, confidence-inspiring handling thanks to a perfectly matched combination of wheelbase and steering geometry, a lightweight 17" front wheel and multi-adjustable suspension.

A return to the trademark single-sided swingarm for this year gives the Daytona back its distinctive look, while the new Jet Black paint scheme and carbon fibre fairing infills and side panels underscore its sophistication.

Backed up by a comprehensive range of dedicated Triumph accessories, riders can focus on making more of the sports abilities of the Daytona with a high-level oval carbon can and re-mapped fuelling (for track use), or make the most of its long distance capabilities with custom luggage. And it's precisely this adaptability that ensures the Daytona remains one of the more intelligent superbike options.
