I got my clubmans for $29 from Mike's XS. http://www.mikesxs.com/mikesxs-chassis.php?category_id=1.4 They aren't super low, but look good and are very comfortable.

You can get lower ones elsewhere, like Old Bike Barn, http://www.oldbikebarn.com/motorcycle_parts.php?bike=&subcategory=Handle%20Bars ...

Hit 110 mph indicated on a GS500 with a Plexi 2 fairing and 240# me onboard, that's probably about 10% higher than the actual mph would be.

so speedometers on bikes aren't 100% accurate and will display higher speed than what you're actually doing?

My litttle 400 tops out at 105mph, redlined in 5th. She's a wee bit scary at that speed. Only did it for a few seconds on open highway to see how fast it'd go and will not do it again! :o

It's pretty straight forward if you have a look at it.

Going from memory:
Turn off petcock and disconnect fuel line.
Remove the bolts holding it to the head. Two on each intake.
Losen the clamps holding it to the airbox.
Remove two screws holding the cable assembly.
Then it's just a matter of ...

Maybe I'm getting old too. Or maybe not. I do enjoy looking at beautiful women but I guess my idea of a beautiful women is different. None of those pictures did much for me. The few I looked at seemed a little trashy. :o

I live 5mins from work, so I don't do alot of commuting.
I've never ridin' more than a few hours at a time, so I'm no tourer.
I do enjoy cruising, though I don't ride a cruiser.
I enjoy twisty roads, but I'm no racer and not all that daring.

My typical ride is about 1 hr each direction. I prefer ...

I've always thought the CX500 would make a good cafe racer. Probably because I've seen some cool Motto Guzzi cafe's, and the CX is similar in appearance. Have you been to this CX message board? http://www.cxboard.netfirms.com/wwwboard/general/

I highly recommend changing the handlebars. Especially ...

They are vents, but do not require a tube. I believe they are just for vapour.
The float bowl overflows are on the bottom of the float bowls and should have a hose routing them to the ground, away from the engine and rear tire.

While you have the carbs apart it's a good idea to inspect the float ...
