Just last month I was going down the highway in my car, a little too fast, i guess, and a motorcycle cop pulled out and put on his lights behind me. I slowed down, and pulled over, he pulled up close behind me, then he came up next to me, gave me a "motorcycle wave", and then went after th...

Hi Shalihe74 - Thanks for the reply, and yes, your advice did help. I think I am going to listen to my gut and stay in my neighborhood for now. I will get out there when I feel it is right. I wish I had someone to ride with, but we only have 1 bike!! We have friends in the neighborhood that have a d...

LADIES - Have you named your bike?

My son thinks I should name my bike (Ninja 250, black) "Ninja-poop". A play on Nincompoop, I guess?
I personally like the name "Black Mary" , a reference to the book "The Secret Life of Bees".

Hey RozStar, how's it going out there? I am pretty new. I passed the BRC, I have my license, and my bike (Ninja 250). I only ride in my neighborhood. Lot's of starting, stopping, turns, 1 steep hill, a good place to practice U-turns, and I ride probably every other day. Problem is, I haven't gone ov...

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for my Dad.
KarateChick, you are right! I'm not that much of a wimp if I'm out there on my bike. I will check out the Kawi Owners Group. May be after the 13th, when I get home again.
Thanks!

I am in Los Gatos, just over the mountain from Santa Cruz. There was a light dusting of snow on the mountain this morning. Very unusual! Where are you?

Hi again - Just a quick post to let you know that I took the whole course again (cuz I could), and I passed, no problem. I feel so fortunate that I was able to do it all over. For free!! Practice practice practice makes me a better rider. What a blast. Thanks to everyone! Now I'm off to visit my Dad...

Newbie checking in

Hi- My name is Allison, and I am very new to this sport. I passed my BRC this weekend (2nd try). I feel fortunate that in my state (CA), if you don't pass, you can take the evaluation again, but you can also take the whole course again if you want. That's what I chose to do. My Dad is a MSF RiderCoa...

I just took my BRC last weekend, and I rode a Nighthawk. I liked it a lot. I have a Ninja 250 waiting at home, and so I definitely thought that the Honda Rebel was wrong for me. When I got home and rode my bike, it was very similar to the Nighthawk. I am a new rider, too. 42YY. My Dad started when h...
