Same thing about the European Exam for me, now I am training alone. A lot of morons, but things are getting better. A lot of riders without license, the most popular bike is Yamaha R1, recommended first (and sometimes the last) bike.. Think your own head, do you really feel like you are ready for s...

Funny, my 'high standard European License' consisted of me paying the $1000 for the mandatory '26 hours' of training. That was followed by about 5 hours of parking lot training where I rode around in circles by myself, and a parking lot test in which the examiner didn't even watch me (was talking t...

Re: 9 Months and a lot of cash & i finally got it.......

Dude, I'm happy for you that you got your license. Seriously. But you tend to come in here with a chip on your shoulder, then someone knocks the chip off and the flame wars ensue. What would you expect? U know I/we could go on forever with this discussion. I openly agreed with storysunfolding comme...

Glad to hear about the license. However, since you keep bringing this point up I can't help but ask. How do you think you'd do on a 600cc sportbike before taking any of that instruction? It may not be a possibility in Europe, but it's a common reality in the States. It's not uncommon for people to ...

9 Months and a lot of cash & i finally got it..........

Yep after nine months of lessons, four exams, 2000 euros in cost, tactical emergency manouvers, 40 one hour lessons I finally got my license today. Its just insane. I can now turn a narrow corner and 90KMh and almost scrape my boots and ive just managed to get a license??? And if there is anyone out...

I have no idea what you were doing. If you had your feet down, walking the bike, then you shouldn't have dropped it unless the bike is too heavy for you. Not necessarily. If he didn't expect the bike to DIVE for the ground when he squeezed the front brake lever with the front wheel turned, he proba...

What they all said plus you may have been turning too sharply. I put down my new FZ1 two weeks ago while practicing my u-turns and figure 8's. I tried to use the front brake to control my speed. Bike started to go and I just couldn't hold it. It all happened so quickly at 5mph or less. I have also ...

I dropped it and I still dont understand how????

I was riding the bike from the garage to the front door at walking speed so I could park the bike at the front and put my gear on while the engine was warming up. I was just about to turn right to park and I suddenly had the bike on the ground. Honestly I have no clue what happened. I was so slow im...

Re: Shade it where you've been

Simple. Copy this ".gif" to your PC, then use MS Paint (or whatever) to shade the states you've ridden in. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/ZooTech/USA.gif Here's mine (pathetic but growing!): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/ZooTech/USA-1.gif Zoo, why dont you do the same thing with a ...

Re: Bleh, dad has to screw everything up.

I can't wait to sell my car, then I should have enough to buy a blazer and a newer bike, but there's still the issue of my dad just saying no. I think its time to move out, but I only make 9.50 an hour, so if I had to pay rent I probably wouldn't even be able to afford a bike...this sucks... Sorry,...

Re: New biker again...

I am new to the motorcycle world, i recently bought a 2005 gsxr 600, I am one of the biggest defenders of newbies having a 600CC bike as their first bike.To be honest though youve got to go through some extensive training before you start messing around with it on the open roads. A GSXR can do some...

No one ever said the 600cc katana is a SUPERsport bike. Suzuki did, and so did most of the motorcycle press - in 1988. It was tied with the CBR600 for the title of the ultimate 600 that year. Just my $.02 to add to a silly azz argument. I cant say anything about the 80's but I can say that my 2003 ...

Happy now Mr. Technical? Great clarity Koss. I feel much better now  So what does the worldy, experienced, community think about HP on the bike? If you were to draw a line between go and no go for beginners what would the recommended HP be? What would the weight of the bike be? What is the ma...

exactly, the 600's are built to 600cc for Race specifications, not because its a nice size. Its no wonder that they are tuned closer to race spec with sharper brakes than a 500cc bike. They are not the same animal at all There are 600CC's that are more timid also. Not every 600CC is a supersports. ...

So are you saying they are as closed minded as us Americans? hrm? Because we can't possibly understand all of "europe"... although there are european countries that have this tiered licensing system? Just some food for thought. Very fair comments on your side. I think the way you deliver your opini...
