The F 650 is a great bike it can cruise the interstates, take the rough back roads and get 70 miles to the gallon while doing it. The light weight of the bike also makes it good in city traffic.

I have a BMW F650 GS. Most of the side mounted luggage makes the bike wide in the rear and distracts from the overall appearance of the bike.

Top case

Are there any disadvantages to riding with a top case? I am looking at adding a small case 31 liter for weekend trips and commuting. Will the case make a big difference on the handling of the bike?

I have the Gusset Jeans with the Kevlar in the knees and rear. They do get a little warm but overall are vey comfortable. I also have the Alpinestars Bionic Knee that I sometimes wear with regular jeans. I found the bionic Knee to be cumbersome and needs to adjusted while riding. If I was involved ...

My bike is an 07 so surging should not be a problem. I like the idea with the masking tape I will give it a try. I have rode mostly on 2 and 4 lane roads and during rush hour traffic.
