Perhaps you should take the MSF course first....
Then you will have a point of reference.

That was my last option as he's a big grouch and yells alot :( Not to mention his Harley was stolen right under his nose almost 12 years ago and so I don't think that wound has healed enough for him to have gotten another bike much l...

[ No, no, no, no. What I know about bikes falls between "jack" and "nothing." I know about the process I used to become a rider, and I know about the bikes I shopped for. I know a little bit about fixing my own bike because I had to. What I know about motorcycles in general won'...

I just paid 1500$ for my first bike (94 Yamaha Virago), its in great shape! The boyfriend has been riding for 12 years, and said its perfect for a beginner, there is nothing wrong with it, and it looks nice! It has a new paint job, new carbs, fairly new tires, and a new battery. I guess it helped w...

After reconsideration, a 1,000 starter/older bike that runs with no needs new clutch, tires etc... would be alright. But how often do you find working bikes for $300? Mine wasn't $300, but it was $800 + a $40 part. You *can* find a $1000 bike that runs well and needs no major repairs any time in th...

no definitely not. I if were I'd probably be able to work on my car :( What's a resonable price then? New or used. From the posts I've read thus far, it's best to go with a used one. Insurance is a big factor as well. Guess I ought to work on taking the course, passing the exam and then focus on get...

got a point there..hence me :( $2000 is more than reasonable and workable.

Guess it's a matter of doing some homework and bringing an experienced rider along the day of purchase.

Well at least I'll be able to sit on some this coming bike show.

Thanks :)
