It's going to be 250 regardless. Trust me. Just pay the people. Eh, it depends on the bike if you ask me. Take the SV for example, the 600 mile check up is literally an oil and filter change, tighten all bolts, lube chain. That's it. As far as warranty is concerned, keeping records that you did it ...

Going strictly on looks: the Buell all the way. The Hayabusa is just so, blah. All fully faired Suzuki sport bikes are IMO. If Suzuki could take the punch, attitude and general feel that the SV has and shoot that on up their lineup, they'd have something.

The shoe store in the mall here got in a big shipment of harley boots on clearance, $60. I really like them a lot. They have zippers down the inside so I can take them off/put them on in seconds. They go well above the ankle and offer a lot of support/protection.

Don't under estimate how much replacement fairings will cost. My buddy wrecked his 250 and altogether did very minimal damage. Fix the right blinker and it'd have been street legal and a perfectly fine bike. But since full repairs required replacing the fairing, the bike was totaled.

I've been thinking of getting the full fairing for my SV. I've got a collection of fully faired SV pics I've gathered to help me decide. Here's another pic http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1128/605637631_e27d0dd296.jpg The only problem with Suzuki's fairing is you can't have motosliders without moddin...

Another oil change question

Today I changed my oil on my SV for the second time. First one was around 500 miles with a filter change, this one was at 1800 with no filter change. Before I changed my oil I noticed a recent phenomenon with my transmission: As I would slow down to a stop, and working my way down the gears, I found...

Strictly from a "feel" perspective, a bike with carbs has a nice "classic" feeling to it. It's pretty cool to have to work the choke and warm your bike up, a little more hands on. But then with FI, just push the button and she fires up like something out of the future. Which is a...

If it's your first bike it doesn't matter that much really. Just get a light, low powered bike that fits you well.

If you really want to know key differences between the types of bike, wikipedia is your friend.
