Are flip-face helmets as safe as regular full-face helmets?

In my opinion, I think if they're going to enforce helmets, they should enforce leathers, too. Without one, the other is almost useless. But then, like it's been said, that opens the door for over-regulation. But honestly, with all the morons out there that need the laws to keep them from splatterin...

And I'd say for a full face. If you get in an accident, you'll be happy you did.

:welcome3: Do you have anything in mind yet for a bike? Well, I've been eyeing the usual 250 beginner bikes. The Virago 250, the Rebel and the Ninja 250, mostly. But I am a big guy, so I wonder if I might need to go with a 500. That's what I've heard from some people, but I don't really need to go ...

Unfortunately it's illegal here in Tennessee. Too bad, when I first got the idea in my head of getting a bike, one of the things I was looking forward to was being able to cut through that horrible stop-and-go traffic. Then I check the Road Laws... bummer.

Just thought I'd introduce myself, so, here goes; Well, I've been reading the forums for about a month or two, but only just registered a few days ago. I'd like to thank everyone in general who posts here, the forum has been a good source of advice and information. :) I'm 15 years old over in the US...
