Small groups can be fun but I would much rather ride solo. For me that is quality alone time, something I often crave.

The not overheating thing is good to hear about, that is more of a concern because of durability issues as apposed to potential performance gains.

Quick question...I am looking pretty hard at making the big switch to harley but I keep hearing rumors about '09 being the last year for air cooled motors. Anybody know if this is/might be true? I have a feeling I would be disappointed if I went ahead and bought a '09 in august and a year later ...

just hang in there ledzep. i, like a big share of the guys in here grew up on the pegs of a dirt bike so it amuses us a bit to hear a question like yours, hence the ribbing, but you are fine. you just need to get the feel of it all. it won't be long and it will all seem normal for you.

The thing is running, good as ever. but I still have no idea what the problem was, I am thinking maybe there was a little dirt or something that got knocked loose when I was digging around on the thing.
