Re: Buying your DREAM bike, as a brand new rider...

After 7 years, I've reached my dream bike...........but not before buying a used 1982 Suzuki SP250Z enduro bike, then to a Honda 450 Rebel, then a Honda Shadow 750C2, onto a SV650S (little sportier) and stopping at the magnificent RVT1000R aka RC51. It's the concept of a "dream" bike that keeps us i...

Re: Longevity and reliability, motorcycle vs. cage

It's really hard to find a bike that you want to keep for a long time and are willing to ride the whole time. I'd say 75-80% of sport bikes are bought by hooligans and rode hard just to sell 3-5k miles later to another hooligan lol!! Sport Bikes are a lot like marriages today, you keep them for a wh...

Re: Longevity and reliability, motorcycle vs. cage

Also, how many people are willing to keep the same bike to be able to put 20k or 30k miles on it?? Not very many. IMO keeping a bike out of the weather (when parked) and being good about doing all the maintenance will keep a bike in good shape mechanically as well as physically. If you don't have a ...

Re: Man this hurts!

Congrats on the buy!!! Got an '06 SV650S and it's an awesome and very reliable ride! When i bought mine it had heli-bars on it raising it up 1 1/2 inches up from the original height, can do lots of miles and feel nothing.

Re: VTR1000 Superhawk 996

Yeah, darn Ducati wouldn't let people test a Hypermotard 1100 at the International Motorcycle Shows unless they were 25 years old. But there were no experience restrictions. *scratches head* Yes we all know how we men mature so much by the time we hit 25.  So in theory another year...

Re: VTR1000 Superhawk 996

I'll agree, it is twitchy off the line on the RVT until about 3500 - 4k . Once I get to 5k and up she starts to wake up :)! The gear driven cams sound so good, love 'em!!

Re: Guys PLEASE give me some good

Well, I'm not making an amazing amount of money but to me customer service is way more important than prices. I've had absolutely zero problems with kneedraggers.com and bikebandit.com and those are the only places I go (every once and a while i'll get on ebay). Kneedraggers had lost on of my curren...

Re: im looking into these bikes here , and suggestions.

Try to outrun a SuperDuke, Hypermoto or even a fast dualsport on any road where you can't break 100MPH with a super sport..... even if you can out run him on the straights, he'll reel you back in the corners. YMMV..... Even on an RC??? or another Super Sport twin? .....................hop...

Those Suzuki v-twins are pretty darn smooth IMO, put 15K on mine and it's prob been the smoothest I've owned!
