blackish spark plugs...

I pulled two of the spark plugs this evening from the right side of my bike. Here are photos of them. Seem fairly oily.? Does this signify an issue with them or the bike, as it seems like it might? Something easily resolvable would be nice :bounce2: I am going to pull the other plugs tomorrow, and i...

Re: bike won't start =(

So I'm enjoying the last few weeks of having my bike before I sell it, and I decided to go for a ride after work yesterday. Don't ever talk about selling your bike, when you're near it. They can hear you and will start having problems. This is undoubtably true. I sold my bike last weekend and just ...

great thank you probably saved me taking it to a bike shop :D Keep in mind that the dead charging system can just be a bad ground connection on the regulator or something like that. First thing you should do is check all of your fuses and carefully check all of the connections between the generator...

merging similar postings

Silly me - I created two seperate postings which merged into similar issue with a CB700SC Nighthawk. Rather than reposting all updated information here again, here is a link to that posting in this forum - http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewtopic.php?t=25597&postdays=0&postorder=asc&...

Sounds great! I put about 1/4 of a bottle 16oz. can of sea foam in my bikes gas tank today, started to drain the oil when i discovered the oil filter removing cap i bought to remove the filter would not fit between the exhaust pipes on the bike running directly in front of the oil filter. So I stopp...

links, carb cleaner, seafoam & grades of gas to use?

I can't get the links to work. But based on your description... it sounds like an exterior cleaner? Funny, the links worked when i put them in and tested after posting. But not working for me either now. So here are a few links to other similar carb cleaning sprays Im referring to, and an article i...

To actually clean a carburator you need to remove it from the bike and dissasemble it then spray it full of carb cleaner, blow it out with compressed air and repeat... multiple times. And yes, it's carburated. Thanks. sounded like it could be used on vehicles simply by spraying the stuff on the car...

If it connects to the tank it's likely an overflow or vent. In which case it's not going to make a difference if it's cracked or not. It's designed to either let excess gas flow out of the tank, or to let air come in to replace the gas that leaves. I'd need a better picture to be sure though, can y...

I thing an on board charger is a great idea. The only draw back will be that 80 mile long extension cord you will need to drag behind you. That is why i was wondering about a small, solar powered trickle charger that would be easily attached and unattached to bike out of the way on the bike. For bi...

Update after installing new battery

I bought a new battery today, cleaned terminal connections, and checked several of the fuses on the bike with an inexpensive fuse tester that came with a few fuses from Kragen Auto Parts supposedly for motorcycles. Using the little tester that has two tiny metal adjustable points to contact fuses an...
