Re: Is the garage a good place to store gear?

If you keep everything clean the only problem will be when it's cool in the garage. You glasses, helmet face shield, etc, will fog up quickly if they are cool/cold when you put them on. I've been keeping my gear in the garage for years with no problems.

Re: Looking at new Suzuki C50

It does have tubeless, cast rims--the touring model has spoked, tubed tires, but he opted for the basic model so that he could get the saddlebags, etc that he wanted. You might want to check the specs on the C50. The "basic" version and the Touring version both have spokes and tubes. Only...

Re: In the market for a new bike, suggestions?

What im really looking for in my bike is that "wide tire" look . . . . . . but am willing to spend as much as it takes to get the look i want Well my suggestion is don't buy a bike based primarily on looks. Then again, I like to ride so for me a bike isn't just for getting 10 miles to Sta...

Re: full face vs open face helmet

Ok, so ive read all the pros for a full face helmet vs open and yet when i bought a helmet i decided to go open face instead. When i was testing the bike out, the guy i was buying it from had a full face he let me borrow. It wasnt comfortable at all. Not that it was tight or loose, i just didnt fee...

Re: Looking at new Suzuki C50

Nice bike, but if it was me I'd get the M50 instead. Same basic bike. but you get case wheels v. spokes, and it has pegs v. floorboards. After the frequent loose spokes on my last bike I prefer to have cast wheels. I also prefer cast wheels so I can use tubeless tires. Floorboards are nice, but not ...

Re: Looking at new S Star 650 as I've outgrown it

IMO, the V-star 650 is a very good bike - for a first bike to learn on. I got a used '01 V-star 650 Classic used as my first bike, and I recently got a H-D Super Glide. A good friend of mine got a new '06 V-star 650 Custom as his first bike, and he is now looking to get either a larger metric, H-D, ...

Re: 06 Suzuki M50 with 38k miles: good deal or terrible deal

$4325 is the KBB retail value, a private party sale should be about halfway between Retail and Trade-In, assuming good condition and normal mileage. Trade-In value on that bike should be $2970. So $3500 is a little below the half way point. Any chance you get the bike checked by a mechanic to make s...

Re: What did you pay for your used Sportster?

We all know KBB and other sites are a rough guideline, but miles, accessories and market condition really set the tone, not KBB. Well KBB is a little better than a rough guideline, especially for a completely stock bike. The way I've negotiated used bikes for private sales is halfway between KBB Tr...

Most the people I've had contact with while out on the bike(s) have shown good interest in the V-Rod. Yeah if you hang out with a bunch of citizens. I have only ever seen one biker actually ride one of these. (If you want a bike that looks like a Yamaha GET a Yamaha, its a better bike) Most clubs a...

Re: Buying my first bike...maybe a Harley?

Sorry, but the EVO engine is a product of "AMF era." If you had taken the time to read the entire thread and my post, you would realise that the subject was about the unreliability of Harleys that were manufactured and sold in the AMF era, not the ones that were still in the design stage....
