The longer wheelbase means more high speed stability but significantly worse cornering and slower turn-in. Wider tires also make a bike harder to turn. Extended swingarms are for drag racing (so you don't wheelie) and for looking "cool". Apparently it's possible to ride them on the street but I can ...

Let me start off by saying that I haven't ridden a whole lot of bikes, but I have looked at a whole lot of bikes that I can't afford, so my knowledge is almost exclusively theoretical. However, I can definitely come up with some bikes that match your criteria that you might want to check out.
As ...

It would start to be a pain to ride them up onto the porch all the time, but a ramp could work pretty well, and it gets to be a pain to put the cover on all the time, too, but that's essential I'd say. Also if you can do it get a heavy chain and lock them to something immovable (light post, car) or ...

Pittance, hope you haven't bought gloves yet or this is worthless. :D I bought a pair of Joe Rocket Rush gloves http://www.joerocket.com/catalog/index.cfm/115/379/Gloves/Rush_Glove
for $60. I live in Ohio and used them on the 2 hour freeway ride home to my parent's for Thanksgiving. Temp was ...

Yeah I thought he got off pretty easy, since it sounded like he had tons of other tickets, or at least court dates. He didn't have to go to traffic school or have his license suspended at all? He must have inflated his "reputation" to match his ego. I thought it was really funny when she gave him ...

Just wanted to throw this out there. I'm not familiar with the Shiver's suspension setup, but you can probably get some different links to lower the bike at least a couple inches to make it easier for both you and passenger to ride. Maybe a cheaper, quicker fix until you can afford a new bike? Just ...

Congrats! That's an awesome bike and it looks amazing! Definitely perfect for everyday riding but plenty of power to have fun, will look good for a long time to come and it seems like you got a good deal too! Very well played, sir.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Buddy just got back in town and we should be going to look at bikes tomorrow! There's a GS 500 on the list (assuming it isn't sold yet) and we might check out the FZR for fun.

I think that the only person responsible for that man's death is himself. The dealership and salespeople are there to sell you a product and make money. It is not their responsibility to take the time to assess someone's ability before selling them a bike and, quite frankly, I wouldn't trust a lot ...

Wow I never realized the rules were so different in so many states. Finally something Ohio does right! With your permit you are restricted to no passengers, no night riding and no freeway. You have to wear a helmet with your permit and for the first year that you have your full license. There are ...
