Problems with online equipment dealer.

I am having trouble with a sales website and was wondering if anyone had any advice. I have bought several items from the MotoDirect website over the past few years, and have been satisfied with the products in the past. I just received the men’s leather motorcycle jacket 204 in the mail. The jacket...

Nightster/883 Iron seat

I'm a tall guy, but I really like the look of the Nightster and 883 Iron. Unfortunately, I just don't fit comfortably on the bikes, even with forward controls installed. I have a tallboy seat on my Softail, but H-D apparently refuses to make one for the Sportster models. Does anyone know of any cust...

I disagree completely. CC is irrelevant to me when compared to the bike's other attributes. I love my 1586 cc Softail for cruising around town and riding two-up with the wife. That doesn't mean that I don't also get a kick out of taking my 748 cc Ducati out for some quick twisty fun. My wife bought ...

I have been curious about Hyosung for awhile. My wife drives a Korean SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe) and she loves it. The car hasn't had asingle problem in the two years she has owned it, and she loves the features. This made me consider a Korean bike. I saw several Craigslist ads for used Hyosung's, and n...

I fully understand the problem with the Harley attitude you're talking about. I bought a very low mileage 2007 FXST Softail Standard last year because when I was starving in college and riding Rat bikes, I decided that I was going to own one some day. The Softail has lived up to everything I expecte...

Thanks for the help. I posted on a few forums, and this is the only reply I received. I take delivery Saturday and am still feeling confident about the purchase. I was suprised at the lack of responses, but guess it's better than hearing 100 horror stories about the model.

Buying Ducati 750 Sport

I just put a deposit on a 2002 750 Sport with just over 8k miles. I have always wanted a Ducati, and finally found one in my price range. I was just going to check with the other owners to make sure that the model, which was only made for one year, is mechnically sound and isn't known to have any pr...

I started on Hondas and owned a 600 shadow for awhile. IMO you should go with the 750. They have more power, more style, are affordable to buy and insure, and right now they are available. The dealers in my area ran out of 600's months ago. The salesman told me the 600 Shadow and the 250 Rebel flew ...

Buy an 07 now, or wait for an 09?

I bought my wife a new Kawasaki Ninja 250R in February, and learned that I really enjoy riding sportbikes. The 250R is a little small for me, and I was considering buying a 650R for myself (to keep my Softail company). There is only one 08 available in the area, and it's green. Nothing against Kawas...

Just to clarify a few points for those of you kind enough to answer. The bike is financed through GE Money, a national corporation without any local offices that I know of in the area. I want no part of any financing in any form, so I will paying cash. After what I have read on this and several othe...

I good with everything except the overage he still owes. He owes $3000 more than th eselling price. He can't pay off the bike until he gets the money from the sale, but I'm not comfortable with him owing that much more than I would be paying. I was seeing if there was some sort of legal protection i...

Buying from an Individual

I found a great used bike on Craigslist, and went to look at the bike today. The only problem is that the bike is financed and the seller owes more than the asking price. The seller was hones t and told me that he is simply over his head on the payments and needs to take a loss in order to get out f...

This is news to me. Most bike rags lists mpg and have been as long as I can remember. From my experience, Motorcyclist will list an mpg range in it's full reviews only, but the vast majority of their features are listed as "First Rides". IMO, if they had enough ride time to rate the performance, th...

Why won't reviews list mpg?

It has become clear that mpg is a huge factor in most consumer's decisions to purchase a new vehicle. That's why I am getting very frustrated that almost none of the major motorcycle magazines will bother to list an mpg or mpg range in their reviews. I am considering purchasing a new bike, but the m...

A few of this month's motorcycle magazines are predicting that the new Guzzi will come to the US with a sticker price in the $7999 range. This puts it on par with the Bonneville, and will definately make me consider this as a second bike (if I fit on it comfortably).

My favorite mag is Motorcycle Sport and Leisure. It's a Brittish publication, but an american company offers fairly cheap subcriptions in the US. It has the most complete reviews, and news, and the best written articles in my opinion. +1 It's the only British magazine, in my view, that writes for a...

I'm 6'05" 250 lbs, and I fit very comfortably on the Buell Ulysses. It's like the bike was made for tall riders, I was actually surprised to learn that the Buell streetfighters are also quite comfortable, but it sounds like the Ulysses would be much more your style.

I often wonder if my riding is selfish because it puts me at risk and could affect my wife and children. Then I think of all the other things in life that are just as dangerous. I'm actually unable to walk without crutches or a walker for the next 12-16 weeks due to a broken pelvis suffered in a car...
