The recalls were for nothing serious, and the bikes on the dealers floors now should be fine. If I had the extra money and a real garge, I'd probably have one as a squirt around town bike. :D

I'm with Jack, I love my GS, especially now that I have rejetted the carbs and put new springs in the forks. Pretty much any entry level bike is going to need that done. Mine has a big air filter now instead of the crummy stock airbox, and it growls and rips through the turns, and my hubby can do wh...

It it possible to wheelie one of those????

So glad you did not go down and are okay. Now you can look back though and see what your bike and YOU can really do in corners!!

It was your best option, good, quick thinking! 8)

google "Diamond Lowering Links" and check fleabay. I got a set of Diamonds (they're the strongest billet aluminum) for the older Kawi Ninja EX500 that are the same dimensions as for the GS500 I have, and the first set of holes lowered it 2" at the seat. I got the ones for the Ninja be...

I ride a sportbike and it's usually a low peace sign from sportbike to sportbike, or a couple fingers off the handle bar. I think that's because it's not generally done from a totally upright position, so a big wave is awkward, especially with wind buffetting from excessive speed  also the...

I wear a Joe Rocket that the one zipper on the left does the same thing. Probably made by the same person in China.

I got some stuff called "Cat Crap" that's for ski goggles, sunglasses, face shields etc. for anti fog and cleaning/polishing. It's good if I remember to use it, but the Pledge might be cool, thanks! :D

Nervous is normal except for stupid squidly types. Everybody drops their bike at some point, usually in the driveway or parking it and catching a pantleg on the peg when their foot goes down! Crash bars are good. Find a big empty lot as suggested and do a lot of circles and figure 8s and stopping an...

I'd like the SV650 but I can only have one bike at a time right now, so I will stick with my sweet little GS. She's still a work in progress anyway. ...... But what I would really like if I had the money for the maintenace is an (ahem) Ducati Monster. I see the naked SV as a cheaper Duc with that tr...

Looked fine, your turns were good for your speed. Slow down as suggested by dragging the rear bike and feathering the throttle instead of letting the bike just run on idle (or just drag the brake to start). I doubt I'd do any better on that long bike. It will feel more stable at the slower sp...
