I had a 1998 VFR800FI that I bought new, loved that bike! The Gen 5 VFR (1998 ~ 2001) is my favorite generation of the VFR with the gear driven cams, fuel injection, and without the complicated VTEC.
How bad is it cosmetically?

I am old enough to remember the same thing said about Japanese manufactured goods, cr@p, cheap, nasty, falls to pieces as soon as you get it home, be it electronics, TV's, cars and yes even motorcycles. By the time I was in my 20's, the Japanese were the benchmark of quality and value, with Germany...

One of the last true new Italian Bimota motorcycles to be released before Bimota was purchased and started producing Chinese made bikes under the Bimota name and moved out of all markets outside of China. Sadly, their main site is still "under construction" for the past 2 years. :( Not on...

Overpriced and ugly as sin but it's a decent enough of a bike that it doesn't deserve a fail.

Was not originally a fan of the non-round headlight Street Triple but it has grown on me and this incarnation looks quite good. Still not as awesome as the totally hooligan, "crashed-1986 GSXR-look" original Speed Triple, but still awesome nonetheless.
