are the Ninja 250's or GS500's ok for a taller guy in size?

I soon will be looking for my first bike after taking the MSF class. It seems the most recommended bikes for beginners are the Kawasaki Ninja250 or 650 and the Suzuki GS500 family. I am a tall guy at 6'3" 255". I am wondering if I am too big for these bikes or if there is a better choice s...

The HJC CS-12 helmet does not have a removable liner. Its a decent lower end helmet but the liner gets a little seedy after awhile unless you wear a skull cap and needs a good washing in my opinion.

Thank you all very much for the wonderful incite and the support. I consider myself in good physical and mental condition as someone stated. I do road bicycling and trips of 30+ miles frequently. My sense of balance on a bicycle which has a much higher center of gravity is excellent. I suppose I hav...

Re: Need Helmet to take MSF class for a melon head questions

Go to the local motorcycle store and find a helmet that fits you well. Ignore the price tag. Buy it. Enjoy. If you hate it, sell the helmet on Craigslist for about 70% of the purchase price. See that's the problem they don't have a 3XL helmet to try. I don't want to order one and get stuck with a h...

Need Helmet to take MSF class for a melon head questions

I am 57 years old and maybe I am going thru the change of life syndrome but I decided to try motorcycling. My wife thinks I am too old for this. I signed up to take the MSF class in May. Hey I go to the pub all the time on my bike... Just because I am in a pub dosn't mean I have to drink - what kind of problems do you think I have? There have been UK based reports in the last couple of years. I did post them last year. I'll try to find it. If you go to the pub and do not drink alco...

Just over 50% of motorcycle crashes involve alcohol. If the nut at the wheel is impaired, not much else is gonna save 'em. Just clearing out the gene pool, I guess. P Whenever I see a bunch of bikers drinking alcohol at the tavern I just shake my head in disgust and wonder if I will be reading abou...

i love when people point out that this is the new biker forum and don't know that the people they are trying to remind know this quite well. as a matter of fact, i know that at least one of the ones having this discussion is an instructor and deals with new riders on a regular basis. now to throw i...

Skier I understand where you are coming from but IMO most people that don't signal or perform a proper lane changes isn't from a lack of knowledge, it's just Apathy. I'm not saying that it shouldn't be taught, I'm just standing by my original statement that it's really no different than operating t...
