Re: Too Hot in Turn

T Squid Centrifugal force will keep a bike moving and upright but you are correct in that the rider has to trust in that like death and taxes. Hold your line and push on that bar....and don't panic. Not going into a turn too hot to begin with is where I should be in the first place. Thanks to everyb...

Re: Could I be wrong?

It's mostly mental. I do in fact ride better because I am letting go of the ingrained thought process that says I can't do this. I can't turn my bike on a dime. I can do this. An I will be telling myself that every time I get on the bike. All I know is that NOT riding for almost four months changed ...

Re: Could I be wrong?

In nursing school, the first semester of clinical rotations exposes a lot of ineptitude, confusion, and hence, anxiety. The faculty were always patient and laid-back about this (no patient was ever in danger), saying "You'll get it." Most students did not find this reassuring. Finally, on...

Could I be wrong?

This question is more directed to bikers who put up their rides for a few months every year due to winter conditions....or for whatever reasons: you just stop riding for an extended period of time. However, if you are an all year around sunshine state rider who never hooks up a battery tender (or mo...

Re: Too Hot in Turn

Brumbear I'll disagree: in that a biker who started in the dirt will have a lot more ability on the street than a noobie (like myself) who has only ridden street bikes. You are 100% correct that "conditions" on the street are 180 degrees opposed to motocross: but the "feel of the bike...

Re: Too Hot in Turn

Norty Pretty much sums it up. Learn on the dirt, before you get on the street. Not an option in my case. Don't get to hot to begin with, Dan. Roadway conditions will decide if I am going to crash if I have gone "ego". And to everybody else I have learned this: hold my line and stay on the ...

Three good ways to prevent a wobble (especially your third one) but I am curious as to what (if anything) a biker can do to survive the wobble (stop it) once it starts.

I just see them crash. Can you ride out the wobble?

We've all seen vids of bikes coming off a wheelie and immediately going into a violent wobble that results in a crash.

Is there anyway to stop this wobble once it starts?

I've never seen anyone recover from this: which I suspect is caused by the bike not coming down perfectly.
