It depends on what you mean - has the RF-1000 changed since it was introduced? - no. Has the RF series changed from each release, ie. the 900 to the 1000 - yes.

I own the RF-1000 helmet myself and decided to do a review on it:

My problem is that if I ask "what is the quietest helmet" I am going to get a bunch of opinions from different perspectives.

Hand signals do wonders. Especially in the city. Probably only 10% of people will actually understand what your signals mean but the main thing is that it gets them to notice you.

Hey all,

I saw this article and thought I'd share. It lists some easy ways to make yourself more noticable on the road and I"m not sure about you guys but I need all the help I can get!

There are exceptions to every rule. If the bike is in gear and running - then yes, I would say gear, although inconvenient for a quick move from one parking spot to the next, it is necessary.

Now if you are duck walking the bike or letting it roll down a small hill in neutral - you can get away ...
