Re: Bluetooth voice control of smart phone?

So, I have a Scala G4. Love it. However, I don't have a reliable way to get it to read out text messages, or caller ID info from my phone. I won't answer the phone blindly, but I'd like to be able to answer if my wife calls (esp. as she's pregnant right now :)), or hear what text she sent so that I...

Re: Bluetooth voice control of smart phone?

I have a set of plug-in headphones for my iPhone that let calls ring through. I suppose I could answer, but that seems to be a really bad idea. If you set her number to a custom tone you'll know it's her calling, at least. It even interrupts the music I'm listening to. While not a bad idea, it sort...

Re: Need suggestions on a smooth ride

Thanks for the indepth reviews Blues! She actually has a medically prescribed brace, but it's so/so for sitting positions. One like you suggested might be a good idea. We are also getting a 2nd opinion Thur to see if surgery is an option. As it's the 3 lowest Thorasic disc's, to do surgery requires ...

Re: Thank goodness for a good bike

No, I haven't yet. And I'm afraid to right now. I want to later. I grew up riding horses, and one of things I learned with horses is that the more different animals you ride, the better rider you are. This has translated with cars and armoured vehicles, so I'm sure it will translate to bikes equally...

Re: Thank goodness for a good bike

I know this. But I AM cocky. I have a very good spatial awareness of my vehicle. Made me a good Bradley Driver, where you can only really see 1/4 of what you'd expect to see from a car driver's seat. And it's allowed me to get some large vehicles thru some seemingly impossible situations. But it has...

Thank goodness for a good bike

From another thread: I get ridiculed for it, but I've always believed the saying that "its more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slow". My little beemer tops out at 100mph with a tail wind. I think I have more fun on it than those liter sportbike guys, b/c they n...

Re: How long would you consider a typical ride?

I don't have a typical ride. I'm a cable guy, working 4/10's and I drive my work van home, so my work days I rarely ever ride. My g/f now has a bad back, so she can't ride with me, so if we go together, it's in her car. So I'll jump at the chance to run to wal-mart if it's a small trip. But a few we...

Strap a board to her back, problem solved! haha JK JK.

If we thought it'd work, we would!!

Even being in a car hurts, but she deals with it. We have a friend with a 700(?) shadow that has a sissy bar. Might borrow it and see how that works out.
