I agree, that is a very pretty bike. Congrats!! And what did he give himself to replace it? :biggrin: Nothin' yet! He's looking for a Honda Aero or Sabre 1100. He test rode a V-star 1100 and an Aero 1100 and really didn't like the V-Star. Hope he finds something soon! We're burning daylight! There'...

I'm jumping in here!

Hello! I enjoyed reading this thread and finding other ladies sharing the same struggle. I'm 55 and was feeling very unfit - and exercise only made things worse - my joints couldn't take it, and I just didn't seem to build any muscle. And I was always tired. Then I started on bio-identical hormone r...

Re: Still Learning

So, my bike is making me stronger. It's fun thinking about what I can go to next once I'm close to being my old self. Regina Gina: I'm 55 and just started riding this year. I started on a 250 and only had it for two months before graduating to a 750. I'll probably not ever go much bigger than an 11...

Yamaha Virago 750

My newest ride is a Yamaha Virago 750. Had a 250, and my husband felt sorry for me after about two months, and gave me his 750.

Now got my second bike! Woo Hoo Again!

Well the Virago 250 only lasted two months - I wanted more power! My hubby felt sorry for me when we took the bikes to Victoria BC last weekend, and went up the Malahat. So when we got home he gave me his 750! I rode it Sunday night and it was great! I've been riding it to work every day this week. ...

Ladies: Got my windshield on

I got my windshield today. Put it on after work, and went for a trial run. Found I needed to adjust it up some, so made that adjustment when we got back. I think I'll take her to work tomorrow, so I can play on my lunch hour, and we'll ride for date night after work. I know I'm going to love it! Loo...

Ladies = Modifications already

I have already added a fork bag so I can carry a few incidentals, like my registration, water bottle, etc. I've also ordered a National Cycle Sportshield to keep the wind off. Can't wait until that arrives! We rode last Sunday, nearly all day. Backroads, highway, twisties, all of it. I like the twis...

Protect head too, or just chest?

Johnj wrote:I've used Spitfire windshields before and would again.
Did it direct wind over your head too, or did it just protect the body? How tall are you?

It's hard to know - how big is too big?

Right - that's what I understand. But how big is too big? Obviously too big is going to look silly on a small bike anyway . . . the Spitfire is only 15" high - would 17"x17" or so be fine? Will it keep the wind off my head, or only off my chest? I'm 5' 6". I'm hoping other Virago...
