How to keep the radiator clean on a 3,000 mile trip?

I'm taking a naked Honda 919 on the road. My first liquid cooled bike. I'm assuming my radiator will get fairly covered with bugs along the way.

Cleaning suggestions please or is it really not a potential issue?

I'd move up one year to an '83 650 Nighthawk with shaft drive. Or did the 650 custom have shaft drive? I put 25,000 miles on an '84 650 Nighthawk. Great bike.

I love a good windshield

Guess I'm getting old but I find a good windshield just makes driving so much more enjoyable. I just picked up an 06 Honda 919 that came with a very small deflector that helped a bit but could only do so much. I found the one below and put it on yesterday. Magnificant difference. Riding is so much ...

I like a normal riding position so naked bikes are my style. Just got a Honda 919 with 2,000 miles on it. Does a lot of everything you need/want except ass-on-the-couch position cruising, which I don't care for.

Best bike is an 83-86 Nighthawk. Shaft drive, self adjusting valves. Good handing and bulletproof engine. Normal upright riding position.

I did 25,000 miles on an 84 650 without issues.

Something like this is a good compromise. Much more natural riding position. Plenty of power and speed for everything except extreme driving. Just got one and really like it. Honda 919

I would want $3-4 thousand cash in my hand in case the tester dropped the bike.

I don't think people come to steal the bike but if they did, I'm insured and would have the $4K to cover any costs in replacing the bike.

IMHO, if one wants to look at useless, wasteful, meaningless human activity, it's chroming bikes. I cruise the used bike adds and see people saying how they have $6,000 or $8,000 of chrome on the bike.

I don't get it. What is the point? Spend money on a great bike but wasting money making it "look ...

Back on 2 wheels after five years

I took a break for 5 years after doing an awful lot of riding for the 5 years prior.

I found a 2006 Honda 919 with only 2,000 miles on it 2 weeks ago and went for it. Quite the bike with a great natural riding position, a strong engine, great ride and handling and all that in a package that ...
