My "own" first bike was a '79 Honda CX500 Deluxe. (My husband and I shared an '82 Suzuki GS450L to learn on). The Honda was purchased from a friend, and it was in PRISTINE condition. I really enjoyed it, and rode it for a year, then our friend, who missed the bike so much, begged to buy it...

Since you're in Ohio, look into Rt. 6 that goes across the top of Pennsylvania. Though it's not a technically curvy road, its fast sweepers and gorgeous scenery make it a great motorcycle road. The route has its own web site www.paroute6.com

Oddly, I'm not fearful of other drivers. Amazingly, I can usually predict what someone is going to do even before they do! My biggest fear is deer, and they are plentiful here in PA.
