Re: Newbie Tiger 800 Question

Thanks for the comments. I forgot about the F650GS and its lowered suspension option. The Triumph just seems... I don't know... sexier for lack of a better word. Plus the reviews seem to love the triple engine. The Street Triple is interesting too. It might be a little too "agro" (again fo...

Newbie Tiger 800 Question

I've been riding for 2 years now on a Suzuki S40 that has served me well. I'l looking to upgrade for next season and the Tiger 800 in quite intriguing. The problem? Well, I am of less than average height. I tried sitting on one at a Triumph demo day and couldn't get it fully upright. So my question ...

Re: Facebook and National Powersports Distributors

National Powersports Direct is very real. I bought a bike from them in February and had a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to buying from them again. I actually stopped in a couple times before I was ready to buy, told the guys I was wasn't going to buy for months, and they still spend more tim...

Re: I want a Triumph! Modern Classics Ed.

Yup. Just sent some time with Chris at Great Bay Motorcycles in North Hampton, NH. The Bonnie/Bonnie SE could very well be my next bike (went used for the first one). It seems like a great bike for both my short commute and regular trips to friends and family a few hours away (via mostly surface sta...

Re: Dead Bike after drop

On the S40 the light definitely comes on when the key it turned to the "on" position. The neutral indicator light won't illuminate. I'll triple check the bike for switches and and connections to make sure everything I can find is still connected. Otherwise the bike goes to the shop on Frid...

Re: Dead Bike after drop

Well if I'm using my voltmeter correctly, and I like to think that I am, then the battery is OK. I think I found the tip over sensor (black box under the seat about 2"x3" mounted by a rubber strap) but shaking it didn't do the trick either. The fuses are all intact as well. I'm thinking I ...

Re: Dead Bike after drop

When I turn the key it is deader than dead. No lights whatsoever and no clicking noise with starter. It's as if the key isn't in it. Tip over sensor? Really? Ya, I'm new.

Dead Bike after drop

On Friday I was pulling into a parking space at work, hit a patch of sand, and dumped my bike on its right side. I lifted it, rolled it into the space, and went into the office. In my frustration/embarrassment I left the key in the ignition in the "on" position and might have left the engi...

brake squeal @ 1600 mi (noob question)

2009 Suzuki S40. Bought it used this spring with about 1500 miles on it. Front brake started squealing at about 1600 miles. If my cars brakes made this noise I'd go get a brake job. Any thing different about motorcycle brakes that it might be something else? I've read some posts about break cleaner....

It's my only ride. It's my first ride. Picked it up a couple weeks ago and now I'm just waiting for spring.
