Where did you learn to work on motorcycles? did you take a class? read a book and absorb it thru your skin? :mrgreen: i would really like to know some general basic ...

Amen!!! As a fellow southerner (from North Carolina) im with ya on that one.

Im close to the same size you are and also a newbie (been riding sice january of this year) and i ride a 250cc Honda nighthawk. If you get the chance, you should check it out. Big enough to get you where you want to go, but small enough to handle until you get some more experience.

What bike?

Id like to give a "shout-out" to my 2006 cb250 honda nighthawk. Its a great bike for a beginner (i.e. , me) and great for around town. Not the best for the superslab tho. IT will do the speed, but any gust of wind feels like im getting knocked around pretty good.
