Re: Race takeoffs & day / night cycles..

I'm in Denver... Technically it is a desert...

I have never seen REAL triple digit temps on the front range.

I just lived for 2 years in Yuma, AZ, you wanna talk desert hehe.

Its also been really wet this year on the front range.

but yeah going from 50-90 in one day is fairly commonplace in ...

Re: Race takeoffs & day / night cycles..

They will at least be covered in a carport type thing, just not temperature controlled. As far as race tires on the street, I'm ok with them... I'm comfortable with the rate they lose grip and they are the right price. I'll start buying street tires when you can get a decent set for less than $200 ...

Race takeoffs & day / night cycles..

So I'm thinking about giving up my garage space at my apartment to save some money over the summer. The question is, will normal summer temperature swings 50's at night to ~100 during the day reduce the lifespan of my race takeoff tires? My concern is that the high temperatures might work like a ...

Re: Does carrying a passenger warrant adjusting my chain?

Well, I guess its time for me to readjust the thing again... Since its loose, I'll need to tighten it up so that the sidestand chain play is 20mm-30mm. Of course I'm going to have to call the shop to at least get their impression. Maybe because I'm heavier than average, taking my weight into ...

Re: Paint vs. Vinyl Wrap?

Well I was referring to a professional paint job coming at at 1200 bucks. If you're gonna do it yourself I'd do the paint. Cheaper and easier than the vinyl wraps.

That's an important point, the wrap itself causes ~$500, then you have to add installation costs, since installing on your own voids ...

Re: Paint vs. Vinyl Wrap?

Can you say Flat Black.

Not really an option... It would be too similar to too many of my friends' bikes which kinda defeats the purpose of really trying to give it a makeover.

I've seen vinyl wraps last for years on cars that are daily driven. They tend to hold up better than paint too because ...

Paint vs. Vinyl Wrap?

Now that all the maintenance is done on my bike, I plan on giving it a makeover. It was crashed when I bought it so the price was right, but the effect of fixing it up is that its now a frankinbike of different colored plastic. I'm working on a budget, but I still want at least a two color design so ...
