Re: What did you do today...

Edit: forgot...and I turned 41 today...1970, best year ever... Definitely. Happy belated birthday! Went to work, finished the beta for a small but important project. Rode home with music for the first time and determined the earbuds I was using and the iPod didn't work so well. Old iPod, Zune buds....

Re: What did you do today...

Congrats, Loonette! Got home last night after a weekend away... first bike trip w/my hubby. Son stayed home with our pets so it was just the two of us on our bikes. Left Saturday morning, about a 3 hour ride to our destination on the Columbia River. Came home yesterday afternoon with a short stop at...

Re: What did you do today...

Spent about an hour washing and chopping fruit (grapes, strawberries, honeydew, raspberries and watermelon). Taking some of it to work for "doughnut day" today! Yes, I'll be bringing doughnuts too.

Re: Ladies: What was your greatest challenge - learning to r

jstark, I don't know that I can help at all, but I have the same problem as your stepdaughter when I'm riding my husband's V-Star 650. In fact, now that I think on it, I took corners wide on my bike for a while too. Hmmm.. I guess I still do in right turns sometimes, especially from a stop or when p...

Happy Canada Day! One of my coworkers is originally from Canada, with a dual citizenship now. She informed many of us yesterday that she expects presents today. We haven't invaded her homeland to punish those Canadian World Domination* upstarts yet; what further present could she possibly req...

Re: Do you get sentimental when you sell a bike

I haven't sold a bike yet, but when I sold my truck in April the buyer asked me if I wanted to give it one last hug before he left. I told him, I just might! ;)

Hope the new one gives you as much joy as the old...

Re: What did you do today...

Just came home from the airport. Picked up our eldest, on home for R&R from a year-long deployment overseas. Five months since we've seen him... SO SO SO wonderful to have him home, and to be able to give him a hug. Sometimes it's the little things in life. Dropped him off this morning. Miss ...

Re: Howdy!

Welcome, Rex. I just wanted to chime in and let you know that I signed up for the basic course for myself, even though I wasn't certain I wanted to ride... turns out I did. But if I hadn't, I would have only been out a day or two (if I came back for the second day) and a few dollars. Since I did, I'...

Re: GS500 ergo and highway comfort compared to small cruiser

It's all about personal preference. Some people are more comfortable on a full on supersport than on a cruiser. Personally I'm more comfortable on long rides on the GS500. +1. I ride a GS500F, my husband a V-Star 650 Classic. I think his seat is more comfortable and I like the windshield on it bett...

Re: Greetings from Iraq

First, please allow me to say "Thank you for your service!" I took the MSF course and started on a GS500F. Love it. I looked at a Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic and almost bought it, but was intimated by the weight. After two months on the GS500F, we bought a V-Star for my husband. I like it, but I still...
