Re: First bike - Honda CB/CL350 or...?

Lovely! One of my favorites (I loved the one in the film too-- I pegged it as a vintage Honda CB right away). If I ever get a bike, I'd be looking into a vintage Honda myself (though I'd probably be looking at a dual-sport--XL250 or XL350-- with the CB350 being my second choice). Have you looked aro...

Re: Is it a good idea to learn to ride on a vintage bike?

Good to read. If I got a bike (some day! I keep dreaming!) I'd want a 70s-era Honda-- either XL250/XL350 or perhaps CB350. And I've always wondered if vintage is a bad idea for a first bike-- if they tend to have idiosyncrasies that make life for a beginner difficult that might be fixed on a newer b...

Re: Pet Peeves of the Morning

Folks at the gym who don't put stuff away. If you're going to drag 5-6 sets of dumbbells and an incline bench all the way from the free-weight area into the open area that people use for stretching/I use for dance practice, don't leave them there when you're done. It's not that I *can't* move them. ...

Re: Ladies - how do you feel today?

Hell, I go drinking with my boss, so taking an MSF class is no big deal, lol. The only thing that will be awkward is that he's been taking his bike on spins around the neighborhood, whereas I'll be coming into it having never even been on a bike, so I dunno exactly how much "moral support"...

Re: Ladies - how do you feel today?

Haha! Love the sign! My boss bought a bike this fall and was looking for an MSF course... he missed all of them for the season so plans on doing it next spring. He said he'd let me know when he picks one as I might take it at the same time (shuttup, moral support!). Is that silly? No way could I aff...

Re: How to take a shower

Almost died laughing because it's SO TRUE!!! But for the men's part, they forgot "clip nails into sink, leave bits all over" and "turn off water but not shower, so when your SO goes to rinse the cat bowl under the bathtub faucet (while bending over into the bathtub to reach), the soun...

If you ride a computer chair why do you need a helmet? Do you have dangerous co-workers?   Yes. :pfft: http://photos.imageevent.com/motorbiker/newspics3/Mototivational-Motorcycle-Poster-05.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/motorbiker/newspics4/Motorcycle-Motivational-P...

Re: Are they trying to save my Life??

Have they seen you ride and are basing it on skills they've observed, or are they just assuming based on your perceived lack of experience? That would be your first question. If these are people you've ridden with a lot, then you might ask if they've actually seen things that concern them. If you've...

Re: Ladies - how do you feel today?

Ladiees... I am so tired of PINK that I could scream! Was having a browse around motorcyclecloseouts.com because I was thinking about taking a BRC come spring just to try out riding (the classes are cheap enough). I don't mind getting the other required gear secondhand (jacket, gloves, etc.) but I d...

Re: How to stop and go?

Have you ever driven a car with a manual transmission? I'm sure it won't be quite the same, but some of the same principles might transfer (at least, so I'm hoping :) ).
