I know, but they were, of course, going in the right direction when used for races. This is my commuter, and my commute is pretty mellow as the highest speed limit is 30mph. So, not much load there.

Holy Crap!! That coud have ended badly!

I was getting ready to go for a quick fun ride around town (very low traffic due to most people being stuck with their nose on the TV for some sport event). As I usually am pretty careful about checking the bike on a (fairly) regular basis, I checked the tire pressure before taking off. While inflat...

New toy in my garage: 2006 ZX6R (Track use only)

Just bought a used 2006 Kawasaki ZX6R setup for track use. Only got a chance to take it around a block a couple of times, but everything seems to work ok. We'll see when I take it to the track in two weeks. Just can't wait. Apparently, the bike was stored for a couple of years (the owner started hav...

Re: Coolant in the oil on my 2007 Honda 919?

My first thought was cracked head or blown head gasket...but might be condensation build up in the crank case (if the bike has gone through a bunch of warm up & cool down cycles without being ran, condensation can build up inside the crank case through the breathers)...change the oil and check the ...

Coolant in the oil on my 2007 Honda 919?

My 2007 Honda 919 has 5k on it and looks in mint condition. Back in October I did an oil change and filter replacement. Nothing out of the ordinary and the oil was pretty clean. The bike was put in cold storage a couple of days later as I was leaving for the next 3-1/2 months. As soon as I got back ...

Re: Where did you learn?

I don't know what your background is, but I broke a lot of things when I was a kid, but learn a lot in the process (at one point, my parents didn't have a single working TV in the house ;-) ). That has help me a lot to get started. At one point you have to take the plunge and dive in with both feet....

Aftermarket exhaust & sliders for 2007 Honda 919

Hi, I just put money down for a 2007 Honda 919 w/ 3500 miles on it. I'm soooo excited! Anyway, there are two mods that I will want to do pretty quickly after I get it: 1) Install sliders (crash protection, or whatever you call it): I've read some reviews around the web, and I see all kinds...
