Re: My first Motorcycle

My first advice is... Before buying anything, go take a motorcycle safety course. Most courses (at least here in Canada) have an assortment of bikes you can "practice" on. Try all the different styles of bike that the course offers so that you can see which style makes you feel most comfortable and ...

Re: How to deal with wind noise in a motorcycle helmet?

Yup, ear plugs...they are cheap insurance against the ringing you hear after a ride.
You can still hear cars and other noises around you with them in, it's just muted to a level that isn't damaging or at least is much less damaging.

Good luck ;)

Returning after a few years away...

It's been four years since I have logged in...life was a little hectic for a while. I got re-married, changed jobs a few times, bought a house and my bikes have both been out of service the last two seasons (still trying to get repairs from crash ironed out for MT-01, and the ST1300 has a fuel pump ...

V-twin, but a single cylinder? I think I missed something...

Looks like a great little bike that would be awesome in the city!

Voted: Cool

Even though the advertising department doesn't have a great proof reader.

Re: 1200 as a starter

Most would view this as a "troll" question...but I'm game ;-) It's not that you can't start on a 1200cc bike, it's that you will be a better/safer rider faster on the smaller bike. A rule of thumb we normally use is: bike under 500lbs, less than 50Hp and less than 50lb/ft of torque. Plenty of people...

Re: Bucket List Rides

BC has a life time worth of roads to explore, but I also want to do a bike vacation down the PCH one day...also want to ride out to east coast and Newfoundland, PEI & Nova Scotia. I'm really quite happy just exploring BC. Living in Alberta makes me appreciate the beauty of the mountain roads, but al...

-5C to +40C...as long as there is no ice on the road, I wanna ride!

Would have been nice to have a mesh jacket on the 40C day...like riding in an oven ;-)

I gave it a COOL...but when they revamped it, they should have given it a bump to 800cc...great bike, but not an exciting bike.

No reviews on the new beginner class bikes...300cc is the new 250cc

Yamaha's is the newest, but any of them would be cool!

It's a take it or leave it design for me...not into cruisers. Would rather have a standard Bonneville.

Re: This Week: 2015 Polaris Slingshot SL - Vote Today

I think it's kind of ugly...edgy maybe but not good looking. I'm sure it's a fun ride, but I don't see a bike at all other than it's missing one wheel. I do like the Spyder, but like Jack said: "you sit ON a Spyder, and control it with bars, and some sort of hand throttle and I just SEE a kind of mo...

Into the West Kootenays in British Columbia, Canada. I live in Alberta where it is pretty flat & straight...love the mountains, rivers & lakes (which makes for some awesome twisty roads!)

I never have turnouts like that on my rides...most was 6, usually it's me and one other...so I'm not very keen on big group rides. I've always been a Buell fan, love the look...

Re: This Week: 2010 Benelli Cafe Racer 1130 - Vote Today

I gave it a cool vote...the 3cyl is kind of original, but with Triumph, Yamaha & MV Agusta using them...not that rare anymore.

The styling is a mix of Buell 1125 CR & Suzuki B-King...but it's a naked bike, so I like it!
