Re: 2nd gear slips out
I changed the oil with Castrol 10W40 and changed the filter too. The manual suggested 10W30 but the guy at the counter said 10W40 would be good enough since 10W30 only came in synthetic thus would have cost me an extra $40 for the amount I needed. Maybe I could try and find a friend who knows what t...

Re: new canadian rider, eh!
Haha thanks! The last thing I have to do before primer and paint is to fiberglass those broken bolt corners and passenger handle bar holes since there were no caps manufactured for it. And yeah, winter here is the better half of a year so even with my incredible sense of laziness, i'll have plenty o...

Re: When to push your limits..
Well I remember the course I took very well. In fact I was titled the best rider in the group (our class was split into 2 groups, so i guess i was one of the 2 best in the course). We were taking some pretty tight turns and I was very comfortable with it. The thing with my confidence waivering with ...

new canadian rider, eh!
My name's Carrie and I'm a 24 y/o female rider from winnipeg, mb. My bike is a '96 Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat, yellow and silver. The guy wanted to sell it to me including a stinky yellow hjc helmet, yamaha garage jacket, and the original engine for $2300 (for spare parts). He swapped out the origina...

2nd gear slips out
I can stay in 2nd until about 3000rpm if i go very gently, but if i rip on it then it slips out right away. Is there any way for me to fix this myself or should I let a mechanic take a look at it? I'd be so much happier if I could do it myself and then brag about it, but is it something an amateur c...

to fender eliminate, or not to fender eliminate?
My bike is a '96 yamaha yzf600r (yellow and grey thundercat, rawrrr) I'm incredibly stuck with this question! I've turned my bike into a project bike for the winter and I'm going to repaint it myself and integrate some lights and change the headlight to something nifty and blinding 8) . I looked at ...

When to push your limits..
I recently started riding just a few months ago and on my first group ride, the guys told me that my rear tire would be good enough to last the rest of the season (wasn't exactly brand new). Once all the snow melts and I regain my bearings (and new tires of course), how will I know when it's time to...
