Imports at Sturgis

I just started riding this year and would really like to go to Sturgis and/or other big bike gatherings in the future. Are non-Harley riders accepted these days or are they still strictly HD/American events? How many people here go to these events? They look like a great time but I don't really have...

I have a pair of Draggin' Jeans. I also have the knee protection but don't always wear them. They are comfortable to ride in, luckily I can't say how well they will do in a crash yet.

The vibration is not bad, just noticable since I get none at lower speeds. 65mph is my max speed so far. I figured it was just a natural occurance with the engine but it never hurts to ask the experts since I'm still learning.

Start feeling vibration at 65mph

Went for a ride today and got the bike up to 65mph. I don't notice any vibration in the handgrips at all when I ride, but as soon as the bike hit 65 I started to feel a vibration in the handgrips. Nothing bad, but as soon as I dropped back down to 63-64 the vibration totally stopped. The road was fa...

My first night ride was supposed to be after work on Tuesday but the bike died. Now my first one should be this Monday. Kind of looking foreward to it.

The battery was the culprit. Pulled it and it tested bad. Put in the new one and everything was fine. I didn't know a battery would just completely die like that. Sounds like it was way over due to be replaced anyway.

The battery was replaced in 1998. I don't have the park position on the ignition so that wasn't it, but I did use the lock position for the first time. I did check the kill switch and moved it between it's settings a bunch of times. I'm going back with a multi-meter this morning and hopefully can fi...

My bike left me stranded

I finally rode the bike to work for the first time today. Everybody had to come out and look at it and tell me what a great deal I got on it. Well, I went out to start it at 11:30 tonight and it was completely dead. No lights and completely dead when I pushed the starter button. I tried it with the ...

How hot before stand sinks into asphalt

I know you need to have some kind of support under your stand when its hot to keep it from sinking and the bike falling. At what temps do you start putting something under the stand when you park.
