Re: Thinking of getting this Magna

No definitely don't use either on a regular basis lol. You always know when a bike is on it's first "post-winter" ride if the owner uses StaBil because there's a smoke coming out of the tailpipes that isn't coolant or oil. As for Seafoam, you can, but honestly maybe once a year is all you...

Re: Thinking of getting this Magna

I'm a bit on the preventive side...

Should I add Stabil to every tank of fuel? Or add Seafoam?

I know Sta-Bil is the best when storing so I'm going to use it then. But as mentioned above...how about a routine additive?

Re: Thinking of getting this Magna

Bike tech training to be a Mech E. myself... The 4 carbs together is a royal PITA to work on. The nice thing about the Magnas is that you rarely have to work on the carbs if you ride it more than once a month. Balancing is about all you really need to do to them and that's not so difficult. Thanks ...

Re: Thinking of getting this Magna

How about fuel economy?

I'm also worried about having to maintain 4 carbs in good performance and also synced together. Any thoughts?

Re: Thinking of getting this Magna

Speed is what Magna was built for. This is what I know from experience: Dad's '82 Magna 750 went from 35 to 85 mph, in third, crossing a 3 lane intersection with one twist of my wrist. I didn't feel like stopping for the light, so I gunned it through the yellow. Boy, howdy, was that thrilling at 19...

Thanks for the advice.

Much appreciated!

MmeMagpie wrote:I've only heard things that tell me I shouldn't have one because I like to drive fast :) One magazine review mentioned that a Magna can almost take a bike twice it's size on a quarter mile.

I'm not too scared of that...I max up at 75 mph :baby:
