I am not in the least bit mechanically inclined. I can do a few things on a car. Screwing something up won't necessarily get me killed. You can ride year 'round in Anchorage. If you have a kick-starter and put screws in the tires :)

Tire pressure is definitely key. Mine gets a touch wobbly when the front tire gets low, which is about once a week.

Practice, like everyone else said, to know thy machine. Get to know it as though it's an extension of yourself. If you have some open spaces to work with, I also suggest finding out how fast your bike can accelerate. That's just as important as knowing how fast you can stop. Developing that 6th sens...

That's awesome they did a study. I find it's good for my mental health, but that wasn't something they were measuring.
