Re: What did you do today...

Today I finally got around to tiling the shower floor in our basement bathroom. The renovation is moving quickly now, next is to grout and then put up the shower walls and tile them. Total amateur hour down there but I think it looks pretty good. It might be DIW, but it's also DIY. :)

Re: First ride, first bike, 1983 shadow vt750 little education helps

Hello Jordan! You've come to the right place! That's a terrifying first ride story, but not an uncommon one. People push other people to learn to ride in incredibly irresponsible ways. My advise is to find a local riding school and take an introductory course. The gold standard in most places is the...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

This morning I did an unboxing, installation, and a little preliminary filming for the new product I'm reviewing. Initial results are interesting. Once I'd done as much of that as I could do, me and the kids piled into the car and headed out to the motorcycle range to visit Carrie and help with the ...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

Just a quick one tonight! My daughters and I went to the shooting range this morning while Carrie was teaching, to try out the Ruger 10/22 we got my youngest for her birthday. I took the first few shots with the rifle to get the scope 0'ed, and it was pretty bad. With an 18x18 target at 48yds, I lit...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

I FINALLY INSTALLED THAT FUSE BOX!! Actually I did it last Tuesday, the 8th. It went pretty well, got all my cowlings off without breaking anything and found all the leads I was looking for. The Connie forum I'm also a member of provided a great tip about a factory accessory circuit in the front wir...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

Today is our youngest child's birthday, she turns 14 today. She's been in the marksmanship program at her school and doing very well, so we bought her a Ruger Youth 10/22 from a local pawn shop for her present. She's been asking for her own rifle for awhile, but over the last year she's really worke...

Re: Stupid mistakes and solutions.

Congratulations! Anyone who will throw stones over an electric bike these days isn't paying attention. Properly outfitted, the new Zeros are very hard to find any fault with. Did you get any of the extended power options or the fast charger? I'm sure there will be options for lowering, obviously I'd...

Happy Birthday TMW!! You're almost old enough to drink! In the States anyway, LoL. Seriously though, TMW has been and continues to be very good to me. I've come a long way since that very first post, looking for the part number to order a new K&N air filter for my 2001 Vulcan. Remember PowerSlave? G...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

It was a pretty laid-back week. It's been raining off and on all week too, and temperatures have been getting steadily colder. Overnight lows got down under 40 degrees yesterday, so we finally swallowed our pride and turned on the furnace. I LOVE those six weeks where you don't need any sort of comf...

HOW TO RESIZE A PIC ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE

Here on TMW, uploaded photos are strictly limited to 300kb file sizes or less, which can be a hassle. Even the lowest quality settings on most Android cameras will far exceed that, and it's not always clear how to get them resized. I've created this quick tutorial in the hopes it will help you more ...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

I went out after work today to get the tires on our Honda Fit rotated, just like an adult! While they were doing their thing at Discount Tire, I walked over to the AutoZone next door to grab a couple of things I've been wanting. I picked up a new battery for my key fob, some red 14ga wire for my fus...

Re: 1984 Honda VF500C Magna v30 - *** Wet Weather Issues

Is the bike out in the elements? That is, is it getting rained on directly or is it sheltered? A temperature/humidity issue would be different than a moisture seepage issue.

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

coffee.jpg My cup of coffee this morning. I taught a class this weekend and had a lot of fun. It seems like every class I learn something new, and I suppose that's how it should be right? Unless there's a change in the schedule this will have been the last class I teach this season, which means a n...

Re: To Ride an Iron Horse - Jack of the Green's Blog

My latest article went live this morning, and I'm really excited about this one! I wanted to put out something about improving riding techniques, so after some thought I decided to write about counterweighting. This is not to be confused with countersteer, which is different. Very pleased with this ...
