Re: This week: 2014 Honda Grom 125: Vote Today
What the heck, I'll give it an Awesome. It's a little confusing to look at at first: the frame is about as big as a 250, but the tires (cheaper?) are tiny. If it was slimmer, I'd compare it to a Sachs Madass. Love the price point though, and I'd like to see some actual riding footage. Reminds me of ...

Re: This week: 2013 Triumph Thunderbird: Vote Today
I must have flip-flopped half a dozen times with my thoughts on this thing. Looks top-heavy, but by all reports it's not. Looks heavy and bulbous, but handles very well. I like it more than I did at the start of the week, but I still feel unqualified to cast a vote.

Re: This week: 2013 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 B5 EFI : Vote T
The problem is that we have no state-side factories building these things. They're all pure import. If we were paying for these bikes with a straight Indian rupee-to-USD conversion... well: 124,000 rps. = $2,274.40.
Darn shame, that.

Re: This week: 2013 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 B5 EFI : Vote T
Don't mind my errant "awesome" vote, I'm biased. But hey, if a virtually-unchanged German-retro copy gets a solid "cool", then a British-retro bike with EFI and (apparently) greater reliability gets an awesome... at least from me. Bah. One complaint: the rev limiter was put in pl...

Re: This week: 2014 Honda CTX700N : Vote Today
I tend to give "awesome" ratings to the things that speak to me before I know what they are, "cool" ratings to the bikes that are functional and attractive (but not demonically fast), and "uncool" ratings for those that just rub me the wrong way, though they may serve a...

Re: This week: 2013 Harley-Davidson FXSB Breakout : Vote Tod
I like the sound of a Harley, but to get it, you sacrifice performance and fuel-efficiency by default. On the whole, I'm just not a fan of Harley-Davidsons, but I get why another person might look at/ride a bike like this and think the world of it. ...I'm just not going to vote.

Like a Road King for people who give a crap about aerodynamics. I'll give it a "cool". On a personal note, I'm still not a big fan of the style. Then again, anything above 1000cc just seems unnecessary to me. What'll you be carrying that needs that extra power? EDIT: Crumb? Huh, didn't kno...

Re: This week: 2013 Yamaha FZ8: Vote Today
This has got to be the only modern naked bike left that doesn't have that "trying too hard" stink all over it. By all reports, it's easy to handle, the seat is comfortable, the visual style is appealing but simple, and it'll do whatever you want it to do. Awesome, says I.

Blame it on the generation gap, but all I hear is Bruce Brown's voice and all I see is bowling-ball helmets painted glitter white. You should get a free sample of Cold-Power with Borax with every purchase. Generation Gap nothing! I'm in my twenties, and I'm about to watch "On Any Sunday" ...
