Just moved to Staten Island. Who should i take my bike to?

I have just moved to Staten Island. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about good shops to take Japanese bike to for inspections and other work? There seems to be limited works on the Island. Any suggestions on the Island? Or, perhaps someplace off the Island that you might recommend. Thanks...

Re: Any thoughts, advice, recommendations on Bluetooth motorcycle helmets

I should probably add that my use would be for gps mostly. Maybe some audio. Probably not for phone calls and bike to bike communication.

Any thoughts, advice, recommendations on Bluetooth motorcycle helmets

Help please. Gear indicator and actual gear bike is in don't always agree.

I have a 2011 Suzuki Bloulevard. Lately, when I shift gears the indicator on the panel will register a different gear. For example, if I am stopped and idling in first gear, the indicator will indicate first. Then, when I begin travel and shift into second, the gear indicator will indicate 3rd gear ...

Any recommendations on motorcycle covers?

What prompts this question: I have a 2011 Suzuki Boulevard c50t. So it is a touring bike with saddle bags and a windscreen. I also have a garage. I have been keeping the bike in the garage when not riding. This means I have very little space to maneuver in the garage. Naturally there is other stuff ...

Should I try to rebend highway bar or replace it

folks, The other day I banged into a stationary pole with the outer edge of my Linby highway bar. At anyrate, the bar got bent a good bit and at the bottom weld, it cracked. I'd like to salvage the darn thing; if it is possible or advisable. On the other hand, the smart thing might to cut losses and...

Just wondering--Do you listen to music while you ride?

If you listen to music while you ride, do you prefer to have a sound system mounted on the bike, or do you prefer a system added to the helmet?

The wave

I don't know. When I started riding about a decade ago, I got quite a thrill when a rider approaching in the opposite direction, and as he/she got closer, gave me a left hand wave. And, I gave one back. I didn't know who it was and whoever it was didn't know me. Ah, but that wave! It was special bec...

I'm a basic adult education instructor. I teach folks readin, writin', and 'rithmatic.

Best part: Anytime someone get a GED.

Worst part: All the uncommitted people that attend for a few weeks and the dropout without a word.

Re: Do you ride in the rain? At night?

I work a split shift-- 8:30 to 11:30 and then again 5:30 to 8:30. So, except for a few months when the light is longer, I am riding in the dark in the morning and the evening. I don't mind the dark, and I don't really mind the rain either. But when it is dark and rainy, I prefer to be in a covered v...

Do you ride in the rain? At night?

I was set to ride to work this evening, and a banner splayed across the top of the TV screen that warned of "severe thunderstorms." I decided to take the truck instead. When I headed home, it was raining, and I began to think about the rain. I recently got a set of Frogg Toggs so I might not get soa...

I much prefer solo, and my wife won't climb on. I am hoping for her to take the safety course. Maybe she'll see how much fun riding is. Maybe she'll get her own bike. Maybe we'll ride together. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe....

Greetings from Red Lion, PA

Just thought I would follow the suggestion and introduce myself. My name is Bill, and I live in Red Lion, PA. I am a basic adult education instructor (GED and skills remediation) and I work for our local "School of Technology" (for about 18 years now). In addition to riding my MCs (2011 Suzuki c50t ...

Thanks. I looked over the procedure you sent. I'll prolly tinker with the bike tomorrow. Re: the pigtail. Probably did get one with the tender when I got it quite a few years ago, bit I didn't need it with my '86 Shadow, and I never found out what it was or what it was used for. Go Figure. Anyway, t...

Re: Battery cable extenders?

Not sure about "pigtails." The tender has three wires coming out of the box: the power cord that goes to a receptacle, and two leads that end with alligator clips, one for the positive and one for the negative terminals respectively. I looked at the link you sent. That looks nothing like what is on ...
