So I can remove that box or do I need to leave it and put the headlight in front of it?

I purchased a 1982 cb900 custom and the front fairing is in pretty rough shape and I was wondering if I could just pick up a new headlight, housing, turn signals and brackets and replace it. I started removing the fairing and I found that there is a black box (I think it has a bunch of wires in it) ...
