Bug Boomed

Yesterday the wife, my 6 year old daughter and I were in the master bedroom. My wife reached behind her to get baby wipe and came up with the wipe and an earwig. My daughter let out a screech that would make horror film director proud. That of course made the wife scream and flick the earwig at my d...

Anyone know where to get a Maintenance Manual?

I am looking for the Maintenance Manual for my 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic. All I really want to do is to change the oil, but I am a little leery of doing it without the manual. I guess the biggest thing I am worried about is the "weep" bolt at the top of the cylinders that I have to "loosen and ...

Tailgaiting

I am really getting sick of people tailgaiting me while I am on the bike. On my way to and from work there is a two lane road through the prairie that is 35MPH due to construction. Double fines make it almost $30 per MPH over so I tend to keep it just about 35. The cagers think it is their right and...

Re: How to convince my parents to get me a scooter (49cc)

It may help both you and your father if you both set down and talk about why he does not want you to have a bike. I do not know the culture in Serbia but it probably will help.

Even if it is a "No because I said so" you are young. Things will come with time (but I bet you did not want to hear that).

This is not official by any means.

I have the same bike 4 years newer, I get slightly higher MPG on 90. Just sharing.

First thanks for your service.

I know a bunch of guys out that way that would be able to help get it home for you. Let me know if I need to make some phone calls.

Another thing to look at are your gloves. If they fit too tightly in the gauntlets or if they are too tight it may contribute.

The wrong first bike

My first bike was a 78 Honda CBR750k. I bought it off the lemon lot for $250. It was a steal but the guy who owned it could not get it running. So I offered him half price ($250) for it as is. He took it. The only thing wrong was the gas line from the On Off Reserve to the carb had a hole in it. So ...

Toyota's and Hills

Riding home from work today I noticed a 90ish Toyota Camry tailgating me. He was so close I could see the gel in his hair through my mirrors. He did a really bad job with the gel. A really bad job. The road home is hilly with one hill reaching a 7% grade for 1/4 a mile. I could have been nice and pu...

Re: Is there a bike out with a mix of cruiser and sport bike

During the time that I've owned these bikes I've realized a few things that I would like and not like on my future bike: I like the upright positioning of the cruisers better I prefer to have my feet below me rather than in front of me I like disc brakes front and back (my cruisers had drum brakes ...

Re: Where do you draw the line

Riding is all about assuming risk. Where do you draw the line? Here in Colorado I dont drive when: WINTER Temp is below 20 Temp is below 20 and there is water on the road Fog Snow, Sleet, Ice or anything else that would cause the sand trucks to be dispatched Any other time that give me the hibby ji...

Re: Thoughts on this bike? 1979 Honda CB750K Motorcycle

Could you tell me more about a 1979 Honda CB750K Motorcycle? It is in absolute pristine shape, but it is an older model could I end up way over my head? I was planning on spending 2400,. My first bike was a bike identical to that. It was a little too heavy and it had more power than I really could ...

Didn't VW build a bike before??? AMAZON built in Brazil in the 70s (almost unkown) One of the bikes in my garbage pile in California is a VW. It is a green, flat two, shaft driven bike. when it was built VW used natural rubber for the carb seals, shaft seals and a few other places. Now those gasket...
