Re: New Rider!

I'm a new rider too! Took the MSF beginners course a couple of weeks ago, bought my bike last week and just got into traffic for the first time 3 days ago riding to work. It was very intimidating for me! By the time I got where I was going after that first ride I was shaking from how scared I was. I...

Front right running light broke, but blinker is fine

Bought my first bike last week. 2004 Honda Shadow 600. The front right running light wasn't working when I bought it but the blinker works. I figured maybe it was just one of the filaments in the light bulb burnt out. Looks like it's not that simple. After changing the bulb I inspected a little clos...

Re: 1st bike

Logged close to a hundred miles on my new bike this weekend! Bought my own jacket (the one in the picture was borrowed) and even had my first break down. I just ran out of gas. It took me a minute to figure out what happened because when I bought the bike the previous owner said I'd be able to get 1...

Re: 1st bike

I just wanted to update you. I found my bike last weekend! Ended up going with a 2004 Honda Shadow 600. Although it hasn't been ridden regularly in about a year, the owner was really knowledgeable about care and maintenance. It's got just under 12000 miles and it sits really nice. Hopefully, by the ...

Less than 10,000. I'm actually a little concerned about that. It's a '99. I hope it hasn't just been sitting in the garage.

Re: 1st bike

Thanks for the input JackoftheGreen. I appreciate the tip on checking the forks. I'm looking at a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 this afternoon. It's got a drive shaft and I've been warned about shaft jacking. Being a newb, I had to look that up. I'm still unclear as to what happens and if it's going to m...

1st bike

Hi everyone, I'm looking for guidance on buying my first bike. I just finished my MSF course. I was riding a Harley street 500 in the course and feel really comfortable with it. Not ready to hit the streets yet but I don't think it'll be too long for me to progress to that once I've spent some time ...
