Re: The HD Sportster

Ive been pondering buying a new bike next season, something in the $5-7k range. I havent considered an HD before but I must admit for $6595 the sportster 883 has some pretty nice features. (Belt drive, fuel injection, self adjusting valves, etc.) But ive heard people say that the sportster is top h...

Re: Opinions on Bonneville / Sportster

(I did search , could not find definitive Opinions on the Bonneville America) Hello , I'm looking to buy a small cruiser and need some advice , the two bikes I'm digging are 07 Sportster 883L & Triumph Bonneville America , anyone have any opinions on how these two bikes compare to each other or alt...

Every Man & his Dog has a Fatboy...why join the Herd? (OK, I know you like it, fair enough) In reality though, the Road king is the best 'all round' H-D. A Far superior ride than any Softail. I had 2 Softails in my day & I'd never go back. Having said that, I also test rode an 07 Fatty & it was ver...

I went for a ride to Mt. Tremblant with some friends on Saturday. Nothing to fancy about the shot but I like it.

Yep, that will be a tough decision trying to decide between the two. Of course, you know what MY preference would be... :) The lack of foot room on the heel-toe shifter side is a common complaint. There is an aftermarket fix available that replaces the rear shift lever with a longer one. Som...

2007 Harley Fat Boy

I was able to go the Harley Ride days at the dealership here in Gatineau yesterday. I only had time for 1 ride so I had narrowed it down to the Street Bob or the Fat Boy (both are bikes that appeal to me in terms of looks - I've actually wanted a Fat Boy since I was 16.). The Fat Boy was available w...

I took a BMW F650 X Country for a demo ride a while bike. It is fairly light and gives the impression of being off-road capable. It does handle well on the highway and in town. We never did any trail riding on the demo though. It would be a little more pricey than the DRZ400SM. You can also get a su...

I've been to a few recently (Victory and BMW - Harley is in two weeks). The demo rides are usually, from my experience, about 30-40 minutes long in a variety of settings (in town, secondary highway, freeway). They have a set route that the group of bikes follows. There is usually one or two of each ...

Finally got around to taking some pictures. I just finished cleaning the bike. We went for a ride late one night and ended going through some fog which made the bike quite dirty. Here she is all nice and shiny: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/5567/dscn1737ag2.jpg http://img409.imageshack.us/img40...

BMW Test Rides - F800ST and F650 X Country

Yesterday I was able to avoid work for a couple of hours and go and test drive a couple of BMW bikes, the F800ST and the F650 X-Country. Once again here are my impressions of the bikes (I know everyone has been anticipating my review  ). F800ST General Impressions After my brief ride on th...

I was wrong about the Vegas and the sporty having similar set ups. The sporty has a single disk with dual piston caliper in the front and a single piston caliper in the rear.

Re: 2007 Sportster 883 Custom

Well, we have had my wife's bike for a couple of weeks now and she really loves it. I want to ride it a little more before offering up any sort of "official" review but in general I am very pleased. It has satisfactory power, the forward controls are very comfortable once you get used to them and i...

Victory Test Rides - Vegas and Hammer S

Yesterday I had the opportunity to take a couple of Victory bikes out for a test ride. I went for a ride on the 2007 Victory Vegas and the 2007 Victory Hammer S. Here are my impressions, after about 30-40 minutes on each bike in a variety of settings (highway, secondary highway and in-town). General...

Re: High_Sides F800S experience

I finally got to take out the Beemer F800S today. I ducked outta work for a couple of hours to take the test ride on the 800S and the 800ST only to find out that they "lost" my reservation for the ST...... The 800S turned out to be a decent ride with good bottom end power for an 800 twin, a comfy s...

Re: center of gravity on a harley

Some guy told me not to own a harley because the center of gravity is not where it should be, which makes it more dangerous to ride than any other bike over 35mph...is this true? I've never heard it before and I can't find anything on the internet to support his theory. My wife and I just bought an...

2003 Ducati Monster 620

I have had my bike for a while (two years), a yellow 2003 Ducati Monster 620, so I thought what the heck, why not attempt to write a review? So here we go. Power The power is satisfactory. Based on my experience with the Monster 620 I would say the 620 is a good beginner bike. The bike is powered by...
